Dig out your long underwear, because Seafight is ringing in the winter season: It's winter wonderland on the high seas. We've packed the rest of November, all of December and the first few days of the new decade full with enough gifts and events to warm your chilled bones like a mug of grog.
Right up through the beginning of next year we're celebrating our huge Winter Festival! Look forward to fantastic events, cool special items and great prizes. Among other top prizes, you could even win this exclusive design:
Unearth your own personal treasure chest! Every player will have the chance to take part in different event and completely uncover their treasure chest – and with it, the exclusive design. Of course, you can go for another round as often as you want – whenever you're in the mood for adventure. And the best thing about that is when you make it all the way to the end again, there are two more exclusive designs for you to pocket! These two designs can also be won on certain days at our grand design shoot!
Packed full of great stuff to make Seafight even more attractive, it's off to the winter events!
Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeegatta! Break the record and win the regatta. A green fire on a floe on the left-hand side of your map marks the start of your regatta; a red fire on a floe on the right-hand side is your goal. Every six hours you'll have the chance to win the regatta on your server and uncover a part of your treasure chest. Are you a fast sailor? If you are, then you just might find the odd surprise or two on the floe. And if you're not really in the mood for gallivanting around the seas of Seafight, no problem, cap'n! There's an extra portion of cool action waiting for you, such as the
Ice floe alarm! Ice floes are drifting all over the Seafight oceans, and it's your job to blast them out of the water. Discover the frosty surprises frozen inside them which are yours for the taking. So that as many players as possible can turn their ships into icebreakers, you'll find the ice floes drifting on the level maps 3 to 16. Even treasure boxes can be found on certain days on all level maps. Inside them you'll find some small surprises, for example, a
Winter bonus map! You can find the complete bonus map in the ice floes. Every bonus map you find in the ice floes can be played, of course. But beware: The opponents you find there can be especially cold-blooded!
You want to reach the next level faster? Or maybe even the next elite level? If so, you'll find an extra special surprise at the market cove! These items only have an effect on the normal game maps, not on bonus maps.
Snowman: The snowman accompanies you for a short time over the seas of Seafight and brings you a 25% bonus when you collect experience points.
Candle: With the candle you've got a light burning for you in the darkness. The first candle gives every player in your area an additional 15% experience points. You can light four additional candles, too. Every candle increases your experience points by extra percentage point. Alone you can pocket up to 19% extra; play with friends and you can earn up to a hefty 25% total. Every candle goes out after three minutes.
Winter light: The winter light gives you one full minute of doubled elite points. With the snow ammunition together, you could even pocket quadruple the number of elite points!
Hey, wait a minute! Snow ammunition? And how! From today right through the end of the Winter Festival in the new year, firing snowballs will net you double the elite points as compared to the normal elite ammunition – so set sail for the snowball fight! You'll find the ammunition on certain days at the market cove!
For the winter bonus map you'll want to be armed to the teeth, so we're going to present you the event cannons and Skyfire at the market cove on certain days. Do you want to go on some quests and take some tests in your spare time? No problem! To help you out, we're also selling the event harpoons at the market cove!

Winter Festival at Seafight
When will the Winter Festival be?
The winter festival starts on 17.11.2009 at 12 o'clock in the afternoon and will end at beginning of the new decade, on 03.01.2010, at 23:59:59 o'clock. The Event will run for 7 weeks.
How will the uncovering of the treasure chest work exactly?
With an appropriate profit from the ice floes, with ending of a winter bonus map or as a winner of a 6-hourly regatta, you can uncover a little piece of your treasure chest. You need not take part in everything, but can simply select your favourite task. You must find 50 parts of treasure to uncover your treasure chest completely.
As long as the treasure chest is available, you get the Frostbite-design as a slot in the elite ships in the shipyard. You can get this with a click on "encash treasure":
Can I uncover the treasure chest more than one time?
Yes, this is also possible. As long as you have uncovered your treasure chest once completely, you will get the Frostbite-design. Afterwards your treasure chest will be covered again and you will have the possibility to expose it again. You can uncover two further elite designs:
Besides, you can get hold of these both designs also in ours Design-Events!
If you already have all three designs, you can uncover an Item Package. This consists of elite points, points of experience, pearls, winter lights, candles, snowmen and Event harpoons.
At the end of the winter festival elite points are registered to every player for the number of the already uncovered parts.

What I must do with the regatta?
With the regatta you start on the left sided maps of the world-map. There you collect a floe with a green flame.
As long as you have collected this, your individual regatta is launched. The aim is to get as fast as possible to the right sided maps of the world-map and collect a floe with a red flame.
What can I win with the regatta?
Every regatta winner automatically gets a little piece of his treasure chest revealed. Furthermore, the fastest player in each case is rewarded with a small surprise. The ranking will restart every 6 hours.
Where I find ice floes what do I find in it and how I can destroy them?
You can destroy ice floes with harpoons. If you break open an ice floe, you get a bonus. This bonus can be pearls, experience points and it also can be a winter bonus map, as well as an exposed piece of your treasure chest. So that all players have identical chances, there will be the ice floes on the Maps of Level 3 to level 16 inclusive.
Is there also something for all level-maps?
The regatta, the winter bonus map, and uncovering pieces of the treasure chest will be available on certain days. Treasure boxes will also be available on all level maps.
How can I get the winter bonus map and what do I do there?
You get the winter bonus map in ice floes, in treasure chests and in treasure boxes. On the winter bonus map, 15 roaring waves will shake you thoroughly according to all rules of the art. This bonus map is nothing for weaklings! Only hard rocked pirates can success it.
What will I win with the separate waves of the winter bonus map? and what will I get for the completion?
You can find in the separate waves pearls, experience points and elite points, snow ammunition, gold and Event harpoons. As a final reward for the bonus Map a piece of your treasure chest is exposed.
Snowman, candles and winter light - what is this, exactly? What do I get for the use of these items and where I can use them?
The snowman: with a snowman as a companion you get 25 percent more points of experience nearly for everything! This is applied to the sinking of NPCs and players, for collecting of shineys and treasure boxes, for breaking open of ice floes and to healing on the normal maps. The snowman disappears with every map change, and also with a change onto the bonus map. The snowman is not available for use on the bonus map. Should you use the light of Tortuga the snowman will remain visible for the duration of its usage.
The candle: with a candle you can sends magic pictures on the sea chart. As a side effect every player gets more experience points with the sinking of an NPC or player, while collecting Shineys or treasure boxes, while breaking open of ice floes and healing on the normal maps in the direct vicinity of a candle. You may light up to 5 candles on the sea chart at the same time. The first candle raises the yield of experience by 15%, every other lit candle increases it one more percent. You can get a maximum 19% bonus by yourself, but with your friends you can earn up to a 25% bonus. The candle will expire after 3 minutes, and it does not work on the bonus maps.
The winter light: with the use of the winter light you get double elite points while firing an elite ammunition. Should you shoot snow ammunition with the Winter Light, you will have triplication of the elite points. This item also can not be used on the bonus Maps.
The Event-Items, designs and Events. When are they there ?
the Event-Items are unannounced in the market - keeps open those eyes, pirate!
The two extra designs from the treasure chest you will be able to shoot on 22.11.2009 and on 19./20.12.2009. You can get the Frostbite-design in the complete revelation of your Treasure Chest.
The regatta runs in a 6-hour Tounament. Every 6 hours a winner per server is determined. You can participate in the regatta for the duration of the winter event.
I floes are available for the duration of the winter event.
The treasure boxes will be on the maps for the whole event.
